Zwieselstein lies at 1,470 m above sea level in the middle of three major ski areas. Only 3 km from Sölden, 10 km from Hochgurgl and Obergurgl and 14 km from Vent, the three main ski resorts in Ötztal. So that your vacation can start from the moment you arrive, we will organize it all for you – from ski rental to your ski pass and up to the ski school.

Ski-touring in Ötztal

Back country - Ötztal is a paradise for people who love ski touring. Up high, reaching for the summits of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, Gries, Niederthai and Vent, the tour-lover will find thier paradise. Above all, the ‘Venter Runde’ in Ötztal’s Alps is a true ski touring classic and one of the most popular "Haute Routes" in the Eastern Alps.

Snow-shoeing and Winter Hikes

Surrounded by the magical winter - depending on your mood, you could walk or all day- or moonlight, on your own or with a guide, laid back or sporty & ambitious ... Hiking with snowshoeing can be done in many ways and offers you direct contact with the winter landscape in Ötztal.

Cross-country Skiing

Whether skating or classic style, Ötztal offers on the most beautiful trails for cross-country skiers and runners. On the 185 km of skating and classic high-altitude trails there are numerous ways to pursue this healthy and exhilerating sport. Our tip: the trail in Zwieselstein is wild and romantic and one of the most beautiful. Length: 7 km style: Skating, classic Difficulty level: medium

Tobogganing

From Sautens to Vent you will find a wide variety of toboggan runs, most lit, and with shuttle services. Well-organized tobogganing evenings and exciting transfers to the toboggan huts make these popular events a special experience for the whole family ... Our tip: You are welcome to book tobogganing trips directly at our hotel - just ask at the reception!

Ice-skating and Curling

Gliding on skates over frozen lakes and ice, to a bit of music – romantic, original fun for the whole family that has stayed the same for centuries ... Ice-skating is probably one of the oldest winter sports and a nice balance to skiing. In addition to ice-skating, curling also has a long tradition. Our tip: A special highlight is ice-skating on lake Piburg, but check out the conditions as is only possible / permitted when a certain minimum ice surface has been controlled.

Ice-climbing

Not a sport for everyone - but an ice-cold adventure in which the waterfalls in Ötztal play the main role. There are several possibilities; even beginners can try ice climbing. Crampons and ice tools are part of the basic equipment. The correct technique is shown to you by experienced mountain guides.
